THE TEACHING ON THE EXCEEDING BLESSING OF JOSEPH AT GOSPEL PILLARS CHURCH

The story of Joseph’s life is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and favour. Sold into slavery by his own brothers, he endured trials. Yet, even in Potiphar’s house and prison, God’s blessing remained upon him. Through wisdom, he interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams and rose to become Egypt’s second-in-command. There are three key experiences Joseph went through during his journey:

  1. Separation – He was taken away from everything and everyone he knew (Genesis 37:28)
  2. Fruitfulness in a strange land – Despite being in Egypt, a foreign land, he prospered. (Genesis 39:2-4)
  3. Envy, Hatred, and Conspiracy – His own brothers conspired against him (Genesis 37:4, 11, 18)

As believers, we must understand that when people see God’s hand upon us, it often attracts envy, hatred and conspiracy. Joseph’s own brothers hated him because of the favour of God on his life. Despite the betrayal, God used everything for his good. When you walk in favour, opposition may come, but it cannot stop the plans of God.

“And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.” – Genesis 39:2-4

Just as Joseph prospered in a strange land, you too can prosper wherever God has placed you because God’s blessing is not limited by circumstances or challenges.

“Your mindset has the ability to limit God, Do away with limiting thoughts”– Prophet Isaiah Macwealth

No matter what you face today, remember that separation is often preparation for something greater. Keep a positive mindset and watch as God lifts you to a place of exceeding blessings, just as He did for Joseph.
