Sundays at Gospel Pillars Ikeja Mega Church in Lagos are a time of refreshing, as thousands of worshipers gather in person and connect virtually, eager to fellowship and receive God’s Word. Prophet Isaiah Macwealth, God’s servant, revealed in the concluding part of his series on the Morning Altar, the secret to prevailing through fellowship with God, emphasizing our complete dependence on Him. True worship involves lifting our souls to God; being confident that no adversary or challenge can stand against us, as seen in the bible in Psalms 25:1-4.
Worship is a deliberate act of setting our hearts on God. It requires vigilance, as distractions can steal our focus and potentially become idols if not watched.
Prophet Macwealth also emphasized that God tests the hearts of men through both afflictions and blessings. He stated; “God’s love is often demonstrated through His chastening and rebuke.” This truth is pointed out in Proverbs 3:11:
“My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke.”
As believers, we must embrace correction, recognizing it as a mark of maturity and sonship.
The Prophet of God ended his sermon by highlighting seven things that God does when He visits Man:
- He tries your heart and sets the test for the day.
- He opens your hearing so that He may reposition and direct.
- He exercises loving kindness in chastenings and corrections.
- He brings help, provision, and joy to the weeping.
- He executes judgment for the oppressed.
- He releases mercy upon your day, deferring judgment.
- He fights your battles, causing you to prevail.
As we seek God daily, let us open our hearts to receive His corrections and rebuke. Let us yield to His loving guidance, allowing Him to shape us into vessels worthy of His glory.
